I am in need of advice and help. I took my Harley to a shop in Knox Indiana and it when in it was in good condition and when I got it back it wasn't in the same condition. They broke my belt and burnt some of the rubber of my rear tire. The whole purpose of taking it there was to sell it on comission, my husband had a couple of heart attacks and we couldn't afford it any more. The one guy that runs it admitted that the belt broke in 3rd gear and that it was the fastest bike there and had the most torque. The thing is they weren't showing the bike to any perspective buyers at the time it broke. The mechanic admit that he rode it too. I thought if they went for a joy ride and something happened then they are responsible. Also they took my seat off and lost the belt that the passenger uses to hold on too. All I was asking for is the reimbursement for the cost of the new belt I had to put on. AM I wrong on this? Is it wrong to expect to get you bike back in the same condition you left it in?
